Do I need to join MWA-NY if I join MWA?

If you join MWA you are automatically a member of the local chapter. No need to join or pay separate dues. The MWA-NY chapter includes members from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware and West Virginia.

Can MWA-NY help me get an agent or find a publisher?

No. At MWA-NY we hope to create a community in which members share experiences, information, war stories and advice on the craft of writing and the business of publishing which will help all of us to be better - and more successful - writers.

Is my publisher on the MWA Approved publisher List?

How can I find out about The Edgars and The Edgars Symposium?

The Edgar is the most prestigious award in the field of mystery writing. All books, short stories, television shows, and films in the mystery, crime, suspense, and intrigue fields are eligible for Edgar® Awards in their respective category if they were published or produced for the first time in the U.S. Books from non-U.S. publishers are eligible (in their year of publication) if they are widely distributed in the U.S. and are readily available on the shelves in brick-and-mortar stores for the first time during the judging year.
